Weaving 'Charlotte's Web' In his new book, The Story of Charlotte's Web, writer Michael Sims traces the life of E.B. White's childhood in suburban New York and rural Maine, to his adult. Arachne in Greek mythology was a weaver who challenged Athena and was consequently transformed into a spider. There are three versions of the myth. One version has it that she was a shepherd’s daughter that was particularly skilled at weaving. Boasting about her skill, she infuriated Athena, who appeared and contested her. Athena weaved four scenes in which the gods punished those humans.
The myth of Arachne is another notable example of Athena’s connection to spinning and weaving. While there are different versions of the myth, in most versions of the story, Arachne is a mortal woman, and an extremely skillful weaver, who boasts that she could best Athena herself. Open Library. I'm pretty sure that Myth Weaver is a stand-alone novel, and I am not sure how I would feel about reading more. Reading about the different myths was cool.
Usually when I read mythology, I read the parts about the gods and skip the parts about the heroes. This book definitely made all. If Jesus had not bodily, literally, physically walked out of His tomb, then Christianity would indeed be a myth.
But He not only arose from the dead, but He appeared repeatedly to His disciples, providing them with "many infallible proofs" that He was alive.
